$15,000 to the Med Hat & District Health Foundation
April 16, 2019

On Thursday, April 11, 2019, South Country Co-op Ltd presented the Medicine Hat & District Health Foundation with a $15,000 cheque to renovate the dining hall on 2 North at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.

This dining hall is the social hub for patients of the Geriatric Assessment Unit (GAU), and their families. The GAU offers assessments to older adults who may need rehabilitation or transitional services, and works with a multi-disciplinary team, with input from the patient and their families, to review the patient’s needs.

Anyone who has spent more than a day in the hospital knows how dreary it can be; by giving the 2 North dining hall a facelift the morale of patients will improve, boosting their mood and well-being, and hopefully bettering their mental health as well. It will also be a brighter, happier place for patients and families to visit together!
