Nominated for Canada's Safest Employer Awards

This year marks 13 years of Canada’s Safest Employers Awards (CSEAs), which are awards given to companies across the country who demonstrate outstanding health and safety in the previous year. The awards are seen as the leading independent awards program in occupational health and safety.

South Country Co-op has been nominated for a CSEA this year, in the Canada’s Safest Employer in Services Sector category. This award is designed to “recognize a service-providing employer that has an exemplary health and safety record.”

The process to even be considered for one of these awards has many steps and to be named a nominee is an incredible honour. Nominations are gathered at the start of the year, then the Canada’s Safest Employers Awards team does research into each of the nominees before they’re shortlisted. If shortlisted, the nominees are asked to provide a more detailed submission form and an employee perception survey.

Once the additional information is received, the nominations will be considered by the awards team and announced in July. Judging by the independent panel starts in August so the winners can be announced during the awards show on October 19. It’s a very thorough process that delves into each nominee and their safety procedures.
