South Country Co-op Limited has learned that a Team Member from our Taber Food Centre in Taber, AB has tested positive for COVID-19.

This Team Member last worked at the Food Centre on Thursday, November 5.

South Country Co-op has taken immediate action which includes:

  • Reviewing the Team Member's schedule so any other Team Member with direct contact can also self-isolate
  • Additional deep-cleaning and sanitization
  • Contacting AHS and following their direction for the safety of our entire community.

As per Alberta Health Services' COVID-19 guidelines: "A close contact of a person infected with COVID-19 is someone who comes within 2 metres of them for more than 15 minutes."

South Country Co-op Limited has learned that a Team Member from our Vauxhall Home & Agro Centre & Tire Shop in Vauxhall, AB has tested positive for COVID-19.

This Team Member last worked at the Agro Centre on Saturday, November 8, and then went into self-isolation.

South Country Co-op has taken immediate action which includes:

  • Reviewing the Team Member's schedule so any other Team Member with direct contact can also self-isolate
  • Closing the location for deep-cleaning and sanitization
  • Contacting AHS and following their direction for the safety of our entire community.

We will remain persistent with our COVID-19 protocols and guidelines for the protection of our Team, guests, and greater community.

South Country Co-op Limited has learned that a Team Member from our Cypress 120 Agro location has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual worked their shift on Monday, November 2 before entering self-isolation.

To protect our community, we’ve taken the following actions:

  • We’ve reviewed the Team Member’s work schedule and other Team Members who had direct contact with the COVID-positive Team Member to self-isolate as well.
  • We have closed the location and are deep-cleaning and sanitizing it, paying particular attention to areas and surfaces the Team Member was in contact with.
  • When the COVID-19 case was confirmed, we contacted AHS and will comply with any and all directions they provide.

South Country Co-op Limited is providing essential goods and services during the COVID-19 pandemic, while working to protect the health and safety of our members, our guests and our Team Members.

We appreciate the work being done by all our Team Members to serve our communities and we’re working to support them as we make our way through this pandemic together. That’s why when any of our employees are feeling unwell or showing symptoms, they are directed to self-isolate at home and seek testing. 

We understand the impact of COVID-19, which is why we want to be transparent and disclose pertinent details about the confirmed cases, while ensuring the confidentiality of our Team.
