Growing Leaders Together

South Country Co-op, along with 15 other local Alberta Co-ops, Federated Co-operatives Ltd., and 4-H Alberta, is proud to once again support the future of agriculture by funding new 4-H memberships for a second year in a row!

Through the Co-op Growing Leaders program, we’re working together to make a real difference in our communities. This initiative helps remove barriers for youth by covering membership costs for all NEW and second-year 4-H Alberta members.

Collectively, 16 Alberta Co-ops have committed to the $50,000 Gold Clover Sponsorship level for the 2025–2026 program year. Over the past four years, more than 650 youth have been sponsored through this partnership — and we’re excited to see that number continue to grow this season.

Who is Eligible?
The CO-OP Growing Leaders program will cover all age ranges from Cleaver to Seniors, and cover membership fees for the new participant, both provincial registration fees and the local club fees (up to $200 total for first year members and up to $100 for second year participants). This program is open to anyone who has not previously been involved with 4-H Alberta (Cleaver Kids are welcome to apply if they are first year cleaver members).

South Country Co-op's trading area is vast and supports the following communities and their surrounding areas: Medicine Hat, Vauxhall, Oyen, Acadia Valley, Brooks, Taber, Bassano, Lethbridge, Dunmore, Redcliff, Foremost, Barons, Claresholm, High River, Lomond, Bow Island, Duchess, Hays, and Picture Butte. Participants who are located within these areas will apply with South Country as their selected Co-op location.
